a backyard wedding

This past week I had the pleasure and privilege of photographing this sweet backyard wedding in Trumbull Connecticut.  The summer heat was in full swing, but it only added to the beauty of the perfect July day.  Bright sunflowers covered the tables at the reception, and took center stage in the Bride's bouquet.  With an intimate and personal setting in the backyard of the Bride's parents' home, it was easy to feel the magnetic love between the couple.

Hair and makeup by Leah Brasile-Koenig had our beautiful bride looking stunning with a totally natural look for her summery wedding.

With several DIY touches and inspiration from Pinterest, the personalities of the couple shone through in every detail.  And, stealing the show were the flower girl and ring bearer.  In lieu of a Unity Candle, the couple chose a sand frame, pouring in the colored grains to create a whole - the perfect symbol of a family joined together in love.

Following the ceremony, we headed to Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull Connecticut, where the summer sun was setting beautifully behind the trees.  I could not have asked for a more beautiful afternoon - and even in the heat, the Bride looked STUNNING!

As the sun went down, the real part began.  The reception was small and personal, with backyard games of beanbags and ladder ball going on throughout the dinner.  Frosty margaritas were served, making the perfect evening refreshment for a warm summer day.
