introducing mr and mrs schmid! || Fairfield Connecticut Pink and Gold Wedding
There were predictions of rain all week long leading up to Hope and Zach's wedding day. I was frantically planning backup locations where we could take their portraits, just in case we were met with a downpour. So, when I woke up on the morning of their wedding day to clear blue skies, warm sunshine and a cool breeze, I literally squealed with delight! Unable to contain my excitement, I hurried over to the bride's sister's home, where the bridal party was getting ready, and started the day. Making our way over to the church, the scene could not have been more beautiful. Brand new spring leaves glittered green and gold in the sun, and the sanctuary was flooded with afternoon light. It seriously could not have been more beautiful, or more perfect to celebrate the beginning of a new life together for Hope and Zach! The Reception was held at the historic Burr Homestead in Fairfield, Connecticut - and it could not have been a more perfect setting. Vintage Furniture provided by Sassafras Vintage Rentals created a quaint lounge area in front of the fireplace, adorned with photos from the couple's engagement session. Candles lit the hearth, and as the evening progressed, created a warm, inviting glow. When the couple joined the cocktail hour and were finally announced as Mr. and Mrs. Schmid for the first time, the part got started! Everyone danced well into the late night, and finally, when everything began winding down, a sparkler party was how they departed!I was so lucky to work with Amy of Amy Champagne Events, who pulled this whole affair off with effortless ease. And a big thank you to my second photographer, Cynthia, of Cynthia Brown Studios, who captured so many of the details at the Homestead! And - a HUGE congratulations to Hope and Zach! Your big day was BEAUTIFUL, and I cannot wait to see what's in store for you as you begin your new life as husband and wife! It was an honor to document your special day!
