Michelle + Chris // Hartford City Hall Engagement Session
When Michelle first contacted me for her engagement session, the first thought in both our minds was how insanely freezing cold it would be in the middle of January, when we scheduled our session. Michelle and her fiancé, Chris, had chosen to use an image from their e-session as the focus of their Save-the-Date's, so we knew we only had a little window of time when we could shoot, design the cards and get them out to her guests - so rescheduling for a warm spring day wasn't an option. We looked at Gouveia Vineyards as an outdoor option, but knew that this choice was taking a big risk - it could snow, it could rain, it could sleet…or it could just plain old be 10 below zero with a biting wind. It was pretty clear early on that we needed something indoors. But finding a space indoors that was big enough to get everything we wanted out of a full engagement session was no easy task - until we discovered the Hartford City Hall. When we walked in on that Saturday morning, we were collectively blown away. We were the only ones there! We had the entire place to ourselves - and what a place it was! Marble spiral staircases, windows that spanned multiple stories in hight, and ornate, glowing gold light fixtures. My breath was literally taken away. And this session is now tucked away in my memory as one of my favorites. Here are a few of my favorites from Michelle and Chris's engagement session - and oh my goodness, was it hard to choose!
