Summer Love // Harkness Memorial State Park Engagement Session
Dominique and Adam brought me on to photograph their December wedding after a less-than-pleasant experience with their first photographer at their engagement session. So, when we scheduled their new engagement session, I knew that it was my job to make them completely forget about "the other guy". It was my job to make them forget how upset they had been, forget their nerves - forget everything and trust me.Trust is something that is so incredibly crucial to have in your photographer. I don't know very many people who are actually comfortable having a camera pointed in their face - especially during such intimate moments as a wedding day or engagement session. If there isn't a trust between the couple and their photographer, those candid, subtle, loving moments aren't going to be captured. If there's no rapport and relationship between the photographer and the couple, everything is going to be stiff and awkward - and those are two words I never want associated with me or my images.Luckily, it didn't take long to ease into the session. Dominique and I clicked almost instantly during our initial consultation when we realized how much we each loved Disney. Then, during the session, I noticed Adam's Rebel Alliance sticker on his car and it was a done deal! By the time we left, I felt like I'd made two new friends. But, enough blabbering on about my love of all things "nerd". Here are just a few of my favorite images from Dominique and Adam's engagement session at Harkness Memorial State Park! Seriously. It doesn't get much better than this. We were so lucky to have such perfect, beautiful weather…and to have been able to take advantage of the dreamy summer sunset. These are some of my favorite engagement images I've ever taken…and I am SO immensely happy to have been able to meet this couple and give them the engagement session they deserve.Congratulations, Dominique and Adam! The countdown to December begins now!
